The last time these two met,,,,Usc came away with an exciting overtime win at Oregon. A lot has changed since that game, mainly that Usc has lost 2 in a row and 3 of its last 5, while Oregon has won 2 of 3 and 3 of its last 5. In the first meeting, Usc Guard Daniel Hackett carved up the Oregon defense for 26 points and 6 assists. The good news for Oregon is that Hackett is out for this meeting, and Usc will miss his production. With Hackett out, the Oregon defense can concentrate more on O. J. Mayo, forcing others to step up for Usc. It should also be noted that even though Usc won the first meeting, three of their starters were hampered by cramps and had a hard time keeping up with the speedy Oregon offensive players. Usc will probably try to slow the tempo down since they have several players out with minor injuries, but Oregon will more than likely keep the game up tempo when they have the ball. Last 5 game results favor Oregon in this matchup, with Oregon hitting 39% of their 3 point shots, and Usc only hitting 31% of their long balls. Defensively both teams are holding opponents to 43% from the field in their last 5 games. If it comes down to the wire, Oregon will hold the advantage from the free throw line and rebounding,(both offensive and defensivley).
Take Oregon +4 1/2 for 3-Units!!!

Guys we had a tough loss yesterday with the Marlins having an error in the bottom 8th letting Pittsburgh sneak back into it. Let's see if we can start another winning streak today!

Kenny Rogers is in a zone of his own. He has simply been dominating this year. Rogers is a groundball pitcher that has an arsenal of pitches that he throws at batters. His fastball has slowed down to about 90 MPH, but he throws a curveball that has a slow 3/4 break to it. He also will throw his change up at any count.
Mike Maroth has done something no other pitcher has done in over two decades. He lost 20 games in 2003. 2004 proved to be better for him, as he receive more run support. Maroth's pitching style could be compared to Rogers. His fastball reaches the mid 80's. He also throws a curveball and a change up, and has very good control of all his pitches.
Maroth has a tendency to throw first pitch strikes with his fastball to set batters up with his other pitches. Look for Texas to take advantage of this early and often. Of all the players on the Rangers roster, the worst batter against Maroth was Hank Blalock with a .250 BA. The rest of the roster has had no problem with Maroth in the past. I will take my chances with a Texas team that is playing good sound fundamental baseball, that just happens to have Kenny Rogers on the mound.

Look for the Marlins to score a few runs today against Redman. Redman is a finesse pitcher that relies on his change-up and curve to set up a mid-80's fastball. The Marlins have had success this year against Lefties and should even do better in this situation.
Although Al Leiter is coming off of a bad outing, he is a power pitcher that can still throw in the mid 90's. Leiter gave up 5 runs in 2 innings his last time out. That game was rain delayed, and when Leiter came back was knocked out of the game. There should be no distractions in this contest. Leiter will get back on track. What better way to come off a bad start, than to face the Pirates, a team that he has dominated in the past.
